6 alternative ways to take CBD Oil

Cannabidiol more commonly known as CBD, is a natural compound that comes from the Hemp or cannabis plant. CBD is a compound within the hemp plant that is used as a food supplement to support wellbeing in humans. CBD is 100% legal within the UK and is growing in popularity at a rapid pace.

CBD products can come in different forms including oil that is absorbed under the tongue, vape e-liquid that is vaporised or topical creams which can be applied to the skin.

CBD is fantastic to take on its own, but CBD can be combined with other natural substances to enhance your well-being effects.
Here are 6 alternative ways to take CBD oil:

1. How to take CBD with Coffee

Have you tried CBD with your morning coffee? Coffee has been used by humans for centuries, it contains a substance called ‘caffeine’ which is a stimulant. The UK’s coffee consumption has gone from 70 million cups per day in 2008, to a whopping 95 million in 2018. That is an increase of 25 million cups a day, which is a 35% upward change.

Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant which in turn helps make us more alert and awake, which is one of the main reasons why coffee is used by many of the world’s population in their morning routine.

Caffeine works by binding to the adenosine receptor, this is because to a nerve cell caffeine looks like adenosine. When adenosine is created by the brain, it binds adenosine receptors which slows down nerve cell activity which can lead to drowsiness.

But because caffeine looks like adenosine, it is able to bind the adenosine receptors which then means that the cell can no longer identify the adenosine because the caffeine molecules have bound to the cell. Instead of slowing the nerve cells down, it speeds them up.

There is also an increased neuron firing within the brain because the pituitary gland thinks that there is some sort of emergency going on within the body, therefore releasing adrenaline which can cause the body to do sereval things:

• Heart rate speeds up
• Blood pressure rises
• The liver releases sugar into the blood stream for more energy

These in turn can make you feel more awake and energised, which is why coffee is used by millions of people in their day to day working routine.

Try taking CBD with your morning coffee to enhance your wellbeing.

Curcumin is the part of the Turmeric flowering plant, it is the main bioactive substance of the plant. It is yellow in colour and is best known for being used within curries across the world.

This Oxidative damage is linked to many different chronic diseases.

Antioxidants like Curcumin, are molecules that find free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before damage occurs within the cell.

Inflammation is a local response within the body that can cause swelling, pain and sometimes loss off function within the body. Curcumin has also been noted to be a useful anti-inflammatory, which is something that can reduce inflammation within the body.

In one study individuals between the ages of 45-64 with osteoarthritis had an improved performance (participants covered more than twice the distance with Curcumin), this may be due to the anti-inflammatory properties of the Curcumin.

If you are to take Curcumin as a supplement, try and find one that is mixed with black pepper as it increases the absorption rate in the body.
